INDIA, Post-Mauryan (Deccan). Maharathis of Andhra, Chulavaruni, circa 100 AD. AE (Bronze, 19 mm, 6.70 g). MaHaRaThiSa(ChuLaVaRuNa)Sa (in Brahmi) Lion standing to right with upraised tail; to upper left, pellet in circle flanked by two geomatrical symbols, above, swastika. Rev. MaHaRa[...]NaSa (in Brahmi) Elephant standing to left. Apparently unpublished. Struck somewhat off center and with traces of overstriking, otherwise, very fine.

Maharthi was a title used by feudal rulers in the Andhra region during the time of the Satavahana empire.
